Jesus came into the Temple and disturbed the area where some small commerce was occurring (likely so that people could buy the sacrifices that they would make before entering the Temple). Since Jesus was causing a mess, overturning tables, and accusing the merchants of having no right to conduct their business, they asked him under what authority he came. Jesus said that as proof that he was on high, he would "destroy this Temple and raise it in three days." The response from the merchants and moneylenders was incredulity, saying that it had cost them 46 years to build, implying that if Jesus were wrong, the Temple would be irreparable.

The narrator of the New Testament claims that he was using the word "Temple" to refer to his own body and the resurrection. However, it is curious to note that Jesus does not correct the moneylenders or merchants on this fact nor does the New Testament argue that his resurection did not convince any in attendence of this conversation who were not already convinced of Jesus' divinity. It would seem that this understanding comes ex post facto, not from the moment.

What religion was Jesus of nazareth raised to be?

He was undoubtedly raised as a Jew. During Jesus' ministry, the Jews impugned Jesus' birth and His sanity (John 8:48); they even alleged He was demon possessed (John 8:52). They questioned His statements about the temple (John 2:20) and were scandalized at His claim to be the bread from heaven (John 6:41). They regarded His affirmations of equality with the Father as blasphemous and picked up stones to kill Him. Jesus said, "Salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22). Many of the Jews believe in Him (John 8:31; 11:45; 12:11).

What did Jesus say to the Jews?

Depends what source you look at. Here are a couple: The "Gospel of John" has Jesus saying derogatory things to and about the Jews. The "Gospel of Matthew" contains a recollection of the "Sermon on the Mount" where Jesus was supposed to have lectured about proper behavior to the Jews who were then living under Roman occupancy, and the text is positive and supportive.

What was the inscription at the top of Jesus' cross?

The Word inscribed I believe, was INRI. What was the inscription on the cross? Mark: "The King of the Jews" (xv, 26). Luke: "This is the King of the Jews" (xxiii, 38). Matthew: "This is Jesus the King of the Jews" (xxvii, 37). John: "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews" (xix, 19). There was placed on the cross a certain inscription. According to Luke and John it appeared in Greek, Latin and Hebrew. Four divinely inspired historians attempt to report in Greek the exact words of this inscription. Yet no two of their reports agree. In Hebrew, it said Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. which in Hebrew, the first letters of each word are actually Y H V H which is the name of God. :):)
