The animal farm is supposed to represent Russia. George Owell wrote the whole book based on the situation during 2nd World War among the strong countries in Europe, namely Russia, Germany and Britain. Through the book, the plot progresses along with the events that actually happened in history itself during WW2 among these 2 countries. For example, Joseph Stalin was trying to promote his idea of industrailization in Russia and used that to brain-wash and motivate Russians to work harder. The living conditions in Russia was really tough and things did not look good for the people. However, Stalin's power and dictatorships makes people put in trust in him and work really hard to achieve their goal of industrailization for Russia. This incident is parallel to the animals in the farm trying to build the windmill. Napoleon represents Stalin, who was the dictator and had the dogs to threaten whoever who tries to defy him, just like Stalin's police force. No one had the courage to defy Napoleon. Napoleon seized the opportunity and motivated the animals to work hard to complete the windmill. Meanwhile, he exploited his people by robbing them of their precious stuff, like Napoleon taking away the hens' eggs. In so doing, Napoleon uses the money made to by stuff for himself, like him buying whisky. Hence, studying the history and events during WW2 among Russia, Britain and Germany will prove very useful is one wants to understand more about the book.NOT
"Insane asylum"
That is incorrect the farmhouse in Animal Farmrepresents the Kremlin (Russian Fortress lived in by the Tsar before the Russian Revolution).
Animal Farm was Russia and Mr. Fredrick's Farm was Nazi Germany. It did not represent Nazi Germany it represented Stalinist Russia and America was represented by Benjamin the Donkey
Well, obviously Animal Farm represented Russia, Pilkington's farm (Pinchfield) was Great Brittan, and Frederick's farm (Foxwood) was Germany.
Hope this helps! :)
Foxwood and Pinchfield
Foxwood: Great Britain Pinchfield: Nazi Germany
No one, but Foxwood represents England/ Great Britain and Pinchfield represents Germany.
Mr. Frederick owned Pinchfield. In case you didn't know, Pinchfield symbolizes Germany, and many people think that Frederick might symbolize Hitler.
Foxwood owned by Pilkington and Pinchfield owned by Frederick
One setting is Manor Farm, another is Animal Farm. They are the same place, just with two different names. The only difference is that Manor Farm was controlled by humans. But after the animals rebelled against the humans, they renamed their farm, to animal farm. But the main setting is in Russia.
Mr. Pilkington owned Foxwood farm and Mr. Frederick owned Pinchfield Farm.
mr frederick represents hitler because of how he treats and tortures his animals on pinchfield farm, that is just one example
foxwood farm represents England, so pilkington represents Winston Churchill. While, pinchfield represents Germany and Fredrick represents Adolf Hitler.
The ribbons in Animal Farm represent the "badge of slavery", which means if the animal works hard he or she is rewarded with a ribbon, and is expected to do work better on the farm.
