It is not a matter of what the North Koreans did to the South Koreans. The Korean War was sparked because of political differences between two political agendas: Communism and Capitalism. After the Koreans were freed from Japanese rule at the end of WWII, The Allies (specifically the Americans and the Russians) began immediate reformation of the country. They began by dividing the country in two without the consent of the Korean people. Political influence grew rapidly. Some party members offered years of food supply in exchange for their loyalty in the party while another spread Propaganda about the reason of a human's existence. It didn't take long before a war broke out.
Idealistically, it would've been best if the Allies had never divided the country in the first place. But because of this very reason, the once gentle Koreans became the dynamic, fast-paced products of modern Korea.
Fun Fact: The Korean War never ended.
140 thousand south Koreans, 36516 Americans, about 3000 America's allies and 400 thousand north Koreans.
South Koreans.
One estimate is about 2 million South Korean civilians, and 660,000 South Korean soldiers.
There were Koreans to begin with for Korean War to begin. Without Koreans the war wouldn't happen right?
42.4 thousand died in the Korean war
cause it was between the northern Koreans and southern Koreans..?
The Korean War started on June 25,1950 when the North Koreans invaded the South.
Well the Korean War was basically the war between the North Korea and South Korea, as the name Korean War says, which meant that Koreans were the cause of the war and was the one that fought in war.
why the Korean war started is because the North Koreans wanted the South Korean part of Korea "Communist, but the South Koreans believed in "Freedom". So the North Koreans decided to attack the South Koreans, because the North Koreans wanted there government to be incharge, on June 23rd 1950. That's what I think, I hope you understood that. it was the United Nations, including the U.S., that ASSISTED the South Koreans during the Korean War.....

Korea was occupied in the Northern half by the communists (Soviet Union at first) and the Southern Korea area was governed and inhabited by Koreans who managed to get out of North Korea or were natives of South Korea. The North Koreans went across the designated border in 1950 to over take South Korean in the "Korean War". They were driven back by UN forces. The war is not over technically and the Northern Koreans have not been liberated from the communists yet.
No, the Americans fought the communist North
The US reinforced the South Koreans and fought northward into North Korea.
