Mainly bread, vegetables and fruit. On the Greek side, the 5th Century BCE historian Thucydides postulated that, with 120,000 to feed, half the force had to be farming on the Gallipoli Peninsula on the other side of the Dardanelles strait to keep up a food supply after they had looted everything available on the Asia Minor coast and islands.

What role did the gods have in the Trojan war?

The goddess with the most role in the war was Aphrodite, she "started" the war by promising Paris the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen. Poseidon practically ended the war by sending sea serpents to eat one of his priests because he said, "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts." Hera tried to get Poseidon to kill Aeneas, the hero of Troy that escaped, whose family founded Rome, Romulus to be exact, after killing Remus.

How did the trojan wars start?

The Trojan War started as a judgment to see who was the most beautiful goddess. There were three of the goddesses, named Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena. No man was bold enough to make such a tough choice, as they were all beautiful. Eventually, the gods had to choose a man to judge between the three women, so he chose a man named Paris to do the judging. Each of the 3 women offered Paris something if he chose them; Athena offered wisdom in all battles, Hera offered all of Asia, and Aphrodite offered a true love. After a very difficult decision, Paris chose Aphrodite. After being selected Aphrodite had to find him a true love. She decided to kidnap Helen, who was the wife of the Greek King Menalaus, to be his love. When discovering that his wife had been kidnapped, Menelaus became outraged and declared war against the Trojans, hence the start of the Trojan War. Hope this helps! I tried to be detailed but not make the summary too long.
