The British and the maoris
Maori responded to the treaty in many ways, one of the ways they responded was by debating the treaty.
It was to give peace between the Maori and Pakeha
The Maoris thought that the british were just going to steal their land and NOt keep their word. So in the end they refused to sign the Treaty.
No. Historically they are the first nation ever to force the English army into signing a treaty.

So that the Europeans could agree with the Maoris so that the Europeans could stop destroying and vandalising the land and also so that they could share it
No, maoris is a noun. One word cannot be a phrase
Yyes he said he would win yhe war with an army of maoris
I would say if a country has a defensive treaty alliance with another country it would mean that they would not fight with that country, but also that if the country they had the alliance with were to be attacked by another country that they would help to defend them.
