why did you observe with indices of refraction of the colors of light in the acrylic prism
Index of refracting or refracting Index is the measure of light ray passing from one medium. When light passes through an acrylic prism, the light refracts or bends and separates making color of yellow, blue, red, green, orange and violet. The separation of colors is also called dispersion. The index of refraction for each colors are different. Sample is, red light is a little different from violet light in terms of angle refraction. Also, for every medium, index of refraction are different too.
The reason white light is separated into colors is because light of different colors have slightly different indices of refraction. Thus, for example, red light might be bent a little bit more than blue light.
The longer the wavelength, the greater the angle of refraction.
Refraction of sunlight by raindrops, the refraction depending upon wavelength to produce the colors
Refraction can separate white light into the spectrum of visible light from red to violet.
i came here for the answer and your telling me to answer it . i think as the wave stretches the colors begin to reduce. like red into orange etc.

Refraction. White light is a mix of colors in the first place; these colors have different indices of refraction. That is, when moving from air to glass, as in a prism, they will bend at slightly different angles.
The reason white light is separated into colors is because light of different colors have slightly different indices of refraction. Thus, for example, red light might be bent a little bit more than blue light.
Prisms create spectrum of colors by the cause of refraction.
The longer the wavelength, the greater the angle of refraction.
Diffraction = The amount of light passing through a photographic lens being adjusted by a diaphragm. Dispersion = The splitting of light of different colors due to the different indices of refraction at different wavelengths when the light enters a lens or prism.

if too thick, it will get fissured
It is made up of magical colors like blue and purple!!
In fact there are many different charts comarring oil paint colors to acrylic colors. You could check with you art parfesser or art teacher. Wal*mart might even have some :)
