The alveoli are the sites of respiration: the oxygen in them provided by the inhaled air diffuses into the blood cells that flow through the capillaries. Carbon dioxide diffuses out of the blood and into the alveoli so it can be exhaled. The capillaries provide a way for the blood to reach the alveoli. Hope this helps

As red blood cells travel through capillaries oxygen is released (disassociated) with hemoglobin. The oxygen then diffuses down it's concentration gradient into the tissues.
It diffuses into capillaries in the muscle where red blood cells and the blood carry it to the lungs were it is released and oxygen takes its place in the blood.

The gills function like the lungs of a fish, so large numbers of capillaries in these structures function to supply oxygen/get rid of waste carbon dioxide for the organism.

Red blood cells release their oxygen in the capillaries. The oxygen diffuses across the capillary wall to reach the body tissues.
go to the body cells, after that it returns to the capillaries, but the fluid that doesn't diffuses into the lymph vessels (when it goes into the lymphatic vessels it's called lymph) and goes back to the heart.
