Viruses are nonliving. They hijacked the DNA of the host cell and make the host cell produce the proteins and other things they need. Since they are not living they do not need food.
A virus uses the host energy making organelles to produce its' energy requirements.

Sunlight does not directly provide energy or nutrients to a virus. Viruses are not considered living organisms and do not undergo metabolic processes like photosynthesis. They rely on host cells for replication and survival.
Plants are the primary producers that directly or indirectly provide food for the majority of organisms through processes like photosynthesis. They form the base of the food chain, with herbivores consuming plants and then being consumed by carnivores and other organisms.
viruses dot need energy.
parasites
The word "virus" is actually directly from Latin. Virus in English is also spelt virus in Latin. It is a shorter version of the Latin word virulentus, which means poisonous.
immune virus
You will have to install antivirus software directly on VM to run virus check.
the virus can be spread to food through someone not washing their hands when preparing food or it hanging in the air and landing on it, we cannot see the virus so we might not realise it is there, we then take the food and eat it, passing the virus through with the food, inhaling it and eating it, causing the virus to spread through the body causing us to get the virus that was on the food. (the first answer was fish witch didnt explain anything so i deleted it and edited it)
The cell invaded by the virus is called a host cell because it provides the environment and resources necessary for the virus to replicate and multiply. The virus uses the host cell's machinery to produce more viruses, ultimately leading to the destruction of the host cell.
