Andreas Versalius wrote a lot of books, and said that some of Galen's work was wrong as he only dissected animals. He thought that blood flowed from one side of the heart to the other, and contradicted Galen's views of the circulatory system.
However, he did not have sufficient proof, and people/doctors chose to continue using Galen's theories, as used for a long time previous.
William Harvey showed how Galen was wrong about the heart also, and how blood flowed through veins continuously with pumps from the heart. He also said about valves in veins, etc.
He was believed as he had proven his theories to doctors, and the renaissance perios was one of change and revolution in medicine, and with a lesser grasp from the church, which had stopped Galen (along with lack of knowledge or equipment) from learning properly.
Versalius and Harvey both showed how ideas used for centuries were incorrect, and this sparked a revolution in medicine and development of anatomical learning.
William Harvey (1578-1657) is recognized as the man who discovered and published the first accurate description of the human circulatory system, based on his many years of experiments and observations as a scientist and physician.
nothing
he is remembered for all his discoveries he has made of the human body
Vesalius Discovered That The Jaw Was One Bone Not Two As Galen Had Said. That The Breast Was Made Up Of Three Bones Not Seven As Galen Had Said And That Blood Was Not Brought Into And Back Out Of The Heart Through Invisible Holes In The Septum And That In Fact It Was Brought In By The Veins And Back Out Through The Arteries
He discovered how the body really worked. He found out that there are 4 hollow chambers in the heart. With all his discoveries he made a 7-volume textbook of anatomy.
Vesalius was from what is now called Belgium.
Andreas Vesalius was born in Brussels in Belgium.
Vesalius College was created in 1987.
Andreas Vesalius wrote On The Fabric of the Human Body, which presented a careful and accurate examination of human anatomy.
He is famous for " To completely understand human anatomy. it is necessary to dissect the dead bodies of human & animals." that was his theory & he became famous for proving old ancient ideals were wrong.
