British people eat a verity of snacks with tea.
This can range from home made cakes and scones, to packaged biscuits and chocolate bars. It is also a custom for some people to dunk biscuits into their tea.
In addition, it is not uncommon for British people to drink tea along with their normal meals. In some places dinner is refered to as "tea time".
If you mean cookies as in biscuits,
- Plain Digestives
- Chocolate Covered Buiscuits
- Rich Tea
- Malted Milkes
- Bourbons
While I am on the subject can I please say of this dillusion everybody has that all English people drink is tea, it is not true and is absolutley irritating, because, none or my family, or my friends, or me for that reason like tea! It's kind of obsurd and annoying.
Cream and sugar usually :)
That depends on how you like your tea! Some people like it black , or with cows milk I don't know anybody who drinks tea with cream, coffee with cream tea I've never tried.
regrettably, we are a nation of junk food eaters. Curry and Indian Food is very popular, but with the emphasis on takeaways. fish and chips is still up there, but Italian dishes are increasingly popular.
Proper ale is still very much the drink of choice. What Europeans call 'beer', we call lager. However, these days it seems that quantity is more important than quality.
Not as much as the rest of the world is led to believe ! There is more coffee drunk in the UK than tea these days. The myth is a 'throwback' to the British early exploring journeys. Personally I prefer coffee - but occasionally drink tea (maybe a couple of times a month).
Yes. In the UK (black) tea is widely drunk. There is a tendency among some, mainly younger people, to drink coffee. Some health-conscious people drink various herbal teas.
Usually cookies and pieces of cake. Sandwiches also possible.
Some English people refer to the evening meal as "tea" so they might eat anything you would have for dinner.
