How long does it take to bake thick cookies?

Roughly, about 10-15 minutes for chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies, snickerdoodles, and other thick cookie dough dropped from a spoon or scoop. Thick batters baked in pans then cut into bars, such as brownies or 7-Layer Magic Bars, may need to bake as long as 20-30 minutes. But many different sorts of cookies could be called "thick," so it is always best to use a dependable recipe and follow its recommendations.

Why ladyfinger is called ladyfinger?

The name 'Lady Fingers' has been dropped by some Kosher bakeries from the Kosher for Passover Orthodox-Jewish version of the leavening-free treat. The treats have been renamed to either 'Baby Fingers', 'L Fingers' or just plain 'Fingers', depending on the manufacturer. Some say the reason for this name change is due to the association between the treat and the female anatomy which, according to Orthodox Judaism, is immodest.

ANSWER: Ladyfingers were named (by the British) for their resemblance to the graceful fingers of ladies, which they apparently reminded someone of.

Can you bake cookies in a pizza oven?

No you cannot bake cookies in a pizza oven because the cookies will melt faster and the cookies will not come out good. The cookies should be bake in a toaster oven because that bests fits them. The pizza oven is only for pizza that why it's call a pizza oven.

It depends what sort of pizza oven you are talking about. In an electric pizza oven I am not sure. But in a wood fired pizza oven, I have cooked sweet things quite well, in what is called a white oven, once i have taken the the coals out, and let the oven cool down. This way they won't taste smoky or get badly burnt.

How do you make your own cookie recipe?

You need to know the base ingredients for the type of cookie you want to make. Remember where you have sugar you need salt, in variation refer to some other recipes. You also need to know what leveling agents to use and how each one reacts with other ingredients. Try an almond poppy-seed sugar cookie, you can add some "real" white chocolate chunks.

How many cups of flour is in a 5 lb bag?

Four cups of flour equal 1 lb., so there are 20 cups of flour in a 5 lb. bag.

Also, two cups of sugar equal 1 lb., so there are 10 cups of sugar in a 5 lb. bag.

Improved Answer

Four cups of flour does not equal one pound. That response is confusing weight with volume...one cup does not automatically equal eight ounces. The weight depends on the product inside that cup!

All purpose flour in general provides 3.63 cups of flour per pound.

How do you turn muffin batter into cookie dough?

That's not easy, because in order to change it to cookie dough you need to reduce the water content. This can be done by adding more flour, but doing that will also result in a really hard cookie (since the dough now has a high proportion of flour, relative to everything else in it). This means that more butter also needs to be added (this makes cookies crumbly). But adding more butter throws out the quantities of sugar and other ingredients that are also in the recipe (since all recipes are proportional). This means that you need to add more sugar, eggs, and any other things that were in the recipe. This results in a really huge batch of cookie dough. (You will need quite a large quantity of all the ingredients in order to change the batter from muffin to cookie).

Also, muffins also have too many raising agents in the batter to turn them successfully into cookies. (Since it can't be removed).

It's easier just to make cookies from a cookie recipe. Plus they will work out better.
