Buddhism is not so much a religion of good and bad as it is of preferable. There is no such thing as absolute good or bad. In comparison with the Christian method of having a set of rigid dos and don'ts in the Ten Commandmentss, Buddhists have the Eightfold Path which is a suggested way of behaviour which, if followed, can reduce the suffering in one's life, Failure to follow the suggestions means you will have a future opportunity in your reincarnated existence to follow them.
