Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that the spirits of all people will go to a place called the "Spirit World" after death. Here, the spirits of those who were mostly righteous will go to "Paradise" and those who were mostly wicked will go to "Prison". In the Spirit World, we are still able to make choices that will affect our salvation, including accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Following the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, those who are in the Spirit World will be resurrected (their spirits and bodies will reunite). All will then receive a final judgement by Jesus Christ. Based on their acceptance of Him as their Savior and their faithfulness to His teachings, they will be assigned to one of three Kingdoms of Heaven or to "Outer Darkness" (Hell), where they will live with Satan for eternity.

Mormons believe that all people sin, and that they can be forgiven by God if they are truly repentant. Mormons also believe that even sinners will be in Heaven, and the only way to be damned to hell for eternity is to know and God and then consciously deny Him. All others will go to one of the lower kingdoms of heaven based on the severity of their sins and their willingness to repent of these sins.

Is it true that if you grow up outside the Mormon religion you'll never make it to heaven as the Mormons teach?

There are no facts on what happens after death, if heaven exists there or not. If you believe in it you believe in it. The Mormons can be right or they can be wrong. Clearly other religions would not agree with them.As for what Mormons teach regarding this, the answer is NO. Mormons believe that as God loves all mankind, He wants to allow as many as possible to return to him and live with him in heaven. They believe that a huge majority of people will go to heaven, and only a very small part will be damned. They also believe that people may accept the gospel of Jesus Christ after death, before they are judged. In fact, the whole reason Mormons build temples is so that they can be baptized for those who have died. They believe that if they are baptized for someone who is dead, that person will have the opportunity to accept the baptism and and be saved. Is hellfire a natural disaster?

No. Hell is a place of torture that Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe is the fate of sinners after death. Hellfire is not something seen in the physical world, and whether or not you believe it exists depends on your religious beliefs.

Why don't Mormons accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior, but their belief about how one gets to Heaven is different from mainstream Christianity, as well as their belief about what exactly Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection accomplished for us.

What religion contrasts with the Mormon religion?

Many religions contrast with Mormonism. Mormons believe that there are three levels of heaven, when many other Christians believe there is only one. Mormons believe that people have the ability to become gods after death, when some other Christians believe that is blasphemous, making themselves above or equal to Jehovah. Some "fundamentalist" Mormon splinter groups believe that there are no limitations to the number of spouses one might have, when many other Christians believe that you can only have one.

What do eastern religions believe will happen after death?

They believe that after our death we will go to heaven or hell. If we will do to heaven then we will not take another birth but if we will go to hell then we will take another birth to improve our mistakes.

What you Mormons beleave?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) has far too many doctrines and beliefs to be included in one answer. I will list some of the absolute basics, and you can visit their official website (Mormon.org or click the link under "related links" below) if you want more information. -Mormons believe that God is the loving Father of our spirits, and that each individual is a beloved child of God. -Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind. Because He came to earth to atone for our sins, all people can recieve salvation (return to live with God after death). -Mormons believe that the purpose of life is to become more like God by loving others and gaining knowledge. -Mormons believe God continues to reveal His will for the world through prophets, and that each individual may receive personal revelation and guidance from God to dictate their own lives. -Mormons believe that the Bible and Book of Mormon contain the word of God, and the words and revelations to modern church leaders are also studied. -Mormons believe that because God loves all people, all will have an opportunity to accept salvation through Jesus Christ. Those who do not receive this opportunity during their mortal lives will have an opportunity to do so after death.
