Muslims believe that Qur'an is the divine book which was revealed by Allaah on Rasoolullaah (saws) by Jibra'eel (as) verse by verse and chapter by chapter. It was revealed in the span of 23 years - 13 yrs in Makkaah and 10 years in Madeena.

Muslim have their faith in the Qur'an as the word of Allaah and regard it as the supreme order of Allaah in context to each and every small thing of their lives may it be in relation to Jurisprudence, Religious proceedings, Prayers, Hajj, Ritual purity etc.

Qur'an is the book encompassing the vast dimensions of past, present and future in it. It has description about what will happen in the future and contains the mimutest details about the Day of Qayaamat.

A:

Christians rearely talk about the Qur'an (Koran), but from my limited experience they seem to fall into two camps. On the one hand there are those who treat it with respect, if only because they realise its importance to Muslims. On the other hand there are those, who usually hold somewhat fundamentalist views on religion, who think of the Qur'an as misguided at best, and more probably intended to lead people away from what they regard as the true faith. Very few would consider insulting the Qur'an.

Muslims do not encourage their children not to like Christians. Christians and Jews are people of the book as mentioned in the Quran and the people closer to Muslims are Christians as mentioned in the Quran. Muslims are allowed to marry Christians and Jews as they are people of the book. It is therefore a misconception on your part to think that Muslims are encouraged not to like Christians!
