The signal sent to the TV must be a digital signal as well.
The new digital TVs and Off-Air Converters have an On-Screen Signal Strength Meters available through the menu. This is used to help aim the antenna for the peak signal.
It is unlikely that an indoor aerial will deliver a signal to drive a Freeview receiver. Digital television demands a good quality signal in order to decode it correctly. A poor analog signal would be shown by "snow" on the image. The same level of signal quality in a digital system would produce no picture at all. It might be worth trying an indoor aerial. You may be lucky enough to be in a strong signal area. If not, you may need to consider an external aerial.
All TVS that you can buy are ready for the digital signal. You do not have to buy an HD TV to get a digital signal.
Yes, a bad signal on a TV mean that there is definitely a problem with your antenna. It could be that it's not working well for your television. It could also be old and it could also mean that you need to move the antenna around to get a good reception.
If you mean a set top digital box, then you can connect that to any tv.... otherwise..... It doesnt work that way. The digital signal is a part of the analog signal. Just screw the cable wire on to the back of your tv.
Please give examples.
HD refers to High Definition, which is the signal the television processes. LCD mean Liquid Crystal Display, which is the way the screen displays the signal.
This indicates there is no signal on the input you are looking at. The TV set has numerous inputs, be sure there is a cable and signal on the input you have selected.
All TVs need a antenna of some type whether it be a set of rabbit ears, a roof top antenna, cable or sat. decoder.

Actual televisions won't be affected by the digital signal change. What matters is what reception tool is used (e.g. cable, satellite, antennae). Television antennae will not work when all television is transmitted using digital signal. If you have cable or satellite though, you have nothing to worry about.
Generally- no. However, you may be able, in many cases, to pirate the signal from another subscriber, to steal signal, or use software to grab signal. In most, if not all of these cases it is considered stealing and should not be entertained.
