You can purchase a good quality turtle food and/or leafy greens. You can allow the greens to float in the water. The turtles will bite off of it.
There is no such thing as a red eye slider, maybe you were trying to say redeared slider. (the red is not on it's eye, it is on it's ears) Common mistake. Check this website out. usally the mama red-eared slider just lays her eggs and leaves them all alone but if a red eared slider is kept in captivity the mama takes care of the baby until the baby shows its mama that it can stand on its own two feet which is usally 2-3 months after it is hatched.
