they keep the level of bugs down on some farm land were farmers intoroduce them so that they don't have to use anti-pesdicites ( not sure that's how you spell it ) so that they don't harm the earth or polute it.

Bluebirds are fruit and insect eaters, so they might pick at berry plants, but they'll make up for it by eating lots of grubs and insects from your lawn.
