The church is basically the age or era of the gentiles that are saved with a few remanent of Jews that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Messiah. Although some may regard a 'church' as simply a building in which Christians meet for worship, the Church is actually the multitude of people of all nationalities, colours and languages who profess Jesus as Lord and Saviour, which includes many many denominations of the Christian Church such as Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, Salvation Army, URC, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Lutheran Churches and many more - all of which accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. There are some churches who regard themselves as Christian, such as the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, but who, because of their beliefs (eg that Jesus is not God incarnate, that other 'scriptures' have an equal status with The Bible etc) cannot be regarded as part of the universal Christian Church.

An unaffiliated Christian is a Christian who does not have a denomination nor a membership in a church. Unaffiliated Christians will attend more than one church; unaffiliated Christians will go to one type of church on one Sunday and will go to a different church the following Sunday. I believe that this practice is increasing and it might be because many Christians do not feel that their personal beliefs are compatible with church teachings.
