There are hundreds of Native cultures, there is not "one" meaning of almost anything. Even within one culture often the symbolism has mutilple layers of meaning and context.

Even in nearby cultures the meanning can be different. For example for the Navajo white is asscociated with the east, beginings, dawn, morning, youth , spring, white shell, Mt Blanca, planning and thought and various Holy People and animals. Traditional practitioners called "Hataałii", say there are twelve levels of interpretation for each of these sort of symbols or stories.

Among the Hopi white is Mt Taylor, the Northeast, summer sunrise, aspen, magpie, elk, wolf, small frog, primrose, white corn and other ideas.

For the Lakota, far away in the Great Plains, white may be the south direction, old age and wisdom.
