This is done to protect Food from being contaminated. There are bacteria everywhere on our hands, our hairs etc.. protective clothing such as hair net, masks etc. are means to prevent contamination of foods which is naturally present on us or in our body. This is strictly applicable in food industries whereby regulations and many norms hae to be followed.
The equipment needed to work in the food industry is entirely dependent upon how many people you are trying to serve and what type of food. It can range from commercial/industrial sized equipment to more moderate yet still large equipment. The type of equipment is often specialized by the type of food.
Apron, chef jacket
hair nets?
The only time that false fingernails or nail polish might be acceptable on a food handler is if they wear the appropriate gloves during all food handling tasks and the false fingernails do not protrude through the gloves.
They shouldn't be wearing at jewelry at all
Thoroughly wash their hands, or change their protective gloves that some employers insist their employees wear when handling food.
A food handler with wound on their hand should report it to their supervisor. The supervisor would make sure the wound is properly tended to and should determine if the food handler can be assigned duties other than handling food.
That depends what protective clothing you are referring to. Aprons, frocks, hairnets and gloves are to protect the food from possible contamination by the food handler and their clothing. If the food handler is a butcher, chain mail would protect the wearer's body from the cutting instruments. And people who handle hot equipment could wear heat-resistant gloves to protect them from burns.

Jewelry such as rings, bracelets , watches might get or be dirty and thus become a source of harmful microorganisms. pieces may fall into the food, hence should be avoided. Food handlers should also wear hair restraint.
When handling food, it's a good idea to switch gloves in between different food groups in order to prevent cross contamination. Avoiding this could result in sickness or death.
Normally, it is not acceptable for food handlers to wear jewelry in any form. As a food inspector, if I can see it, it could fall into the food, so I don't want to see any jewelry. Even watches aren't acceptable. Wedding bands can harbor bacteria under the ring against the skin. If the ring can't come off, then wear gloves.
