A FF/EMT or FF/Paramedic generally is hired to staff both the EMS and fire apparatus for a fire department. This means that in addition to working as a paramedic, they would also respond to fire calls.

Firefighter, also known as "First Responders" in most areas, respond to emergency calls. Most of the calls don't even pertain to fires, but they are still needed to respond. For example Medical calls, they go and assist the Paramedics with the patient. Most the time they are able to beat the Ambulance onto a scene and can administer First Aid.

They help you if you are trapped in a car after an accident, you could have be in a situation that is out of your control. They respond to most emergency's where lives are at risk or property is in danger. You can be a volunteer fire fighter or you could make it a full time job. If you are on duty you live in a building called a fire house which houses you, other fire fighters, your equipment, and your vehicles trucks and ambulances. There are many different types of fire fighters. The most common three are , regular fire fighter, wild fire fire fighter, and an oil well fire fighter. A wild fire fire fighter, that sounds weird right.. It's a type of fire fighter where they fight forest fires. The other kind is an oil well fire fighter. We have to get oil somewhere, and this is a how we get it. Sometimes an accident happens and the well catches fire. These are the type of fire fighters that fight those fires.
