AnswerSuperintendents usually salary about 10% of their budget. Most public courses have budgets between $200,000 to 1,000,000 private courses average between $700,000 and many millions of dollars It really depends on their level of education, work experience and particular place of employment, but it is interesting to note that golf course superintendents with a 2 Year Certificate earned higher than those with a Bachelor's degree in 2009. There are two options to go with. I'm answering from experience with indoor turf playing paintball. There are several "Turf" cleats available whose bottom consists of tons of little spikes that grip well. Another not so well known option are athletic shoe style golf cleats. They offer very good grip but are difficult to find. Regular style golf shoes are built more like shoes and do not flex well. Either will offer excellent grip even with paint soaked turf.
3-wood golf clubs are often used off the turf or on tee shots. There are many guide on the internet, for example on Dummies, which help finding the right golf club.
The impact that Golf Courses have on the environment is a very positive one. Golf Course Superintendents are some of the worlds leading Environmentalists. Golf Courses properly cared for by Environmental Stewards are an enormous asset to the native wildlife. http:/www.usga.org/turf/articles/environment/Benefits_FinalREV.pdf
Modern golf shoes are made with the golf turf in mind. Most shoes have rubber spikes to form to the course so as not to tear up the grass. The spikes used to made of metal or hard plastic which would tear up the putting greens.
