Bactarian camels eat Saxual sage, a bush native to the Gobi area. They do not eat grass. I have just come back from Mongolia and this is what I was told and what I saw. However, I suspect that they eat other shrubs as well. I stumbled on this site by trying to research in greater depth this very question.
