Nope! They are insectivores. :) They aren't related to the porcupine either, since they aren't rodents.
Hedgehogs in the wild eat bugs, berries, and some grasses. Domestic hedgies eat cat food as a staple diet and treats of mealworms or other bugs can be used. They also loved cooked chicken and beef. (Always cooked) Never feed marketed hedgehog food. It's not very good.
Yes it is actually good for them, it gives them energy and vitamin D but if you give them the wet kind they can suffer from illnesses due to the dog food. But the dry kind is ok. If they did eat wet dog food side affects or the illness may cause: loss of concsiousness or bleeding from urinal activity, or even blindness. You may be thinking that they are the exact same thing but they are not. They are very different indeed. So hedgehogs can eat dry not wet dog food.
You eat what you like to eat. You decide by thinking about what you like to eat the most.
they like to eat just like you like to eat when you was but a baby.
Hedgehogs are widespread through most if not all European countries, and probably widespread in Asia. i don't know if there are any hedgehogs in the Americas, I don't think there are any in Australasia.
