Art directors who specialize in computer generated art need to have experience and knowledge of the various programs used. For those who work with printed media it is important to be familiar with the tools and techniques used. The position of art director requires many different skills that includes but is not limited too customer service, planning, budget and monetary management as well as being able to coordinate and finish tasks on time within a team environment. It is a job that demands good people skills and the ability to multitask readily.
