Kids either understand the value of school, or are at least willing to go through the motions of attending school, or they don't. Shorter days would have no effect on the number of kids who drop out.

No. I don't think so because if it is shorter school should go longer, and thus harder for kids to stay focused during hot weather (in the summer). But at the same time if they are shorter than there is more study time after school.

yes because teachers just give kids so much homework and kids need time to study for tests and do homework instead of sitting in class listening to teachers and getting more homework.
