i have snails and i just use a bucket and feed them a couple leaves of lettuce and any fruit such as grapes.
While both types of snails are mollusks, gastropods, to be more specific, the land snails have developed lungs to be able to breathe on land. Aquatic snails have gills, special organs that remove oxygen from the water. For this reason, land snails will drown if left in a bucket of water that they cannot escape from. Aquatic snails do not have the thick slime that land snails have and will quickly dry out,( if they do not suffocate first) when left out of the water.
Snails can be kept as pets.
Giant African Land Snails (or GALS) get much, much bigger. Garden snails are legal to have in the USA but it is illegal to keep GALS in the USA. GALS serves as a major crop problem but most all Snails (if not all snails) make great pets!
yes
snails breath out carbon dioxide as any other human or animal.
Pests? I do hope you mean pets hehe Pets you can OWN? ------------------------------- Frogs Seahorses Fish Turtles (get a small one..they live for 50 years LOL) Hermit Crabs Snails (kinda boring, though)
of course not silly! snails are gentle and friendly. they are harmless and make very good pets
if you have African land snails as pets you will no what they (your ones) like, every group of snails in a tank can share 1 peice of cuttle fish all you do is wash it and put it in the tank ontop of the mud and they will suck it to make there shell strong. BUT you need to wash it very well first or the gurms from it could cause them to die BUT you need to give them a bit or they WILL DIE ANYWAY.
Depending upon the species of tree/shrub the branches came from, they will either climb up on them or they won't. As to if they LIKE them or not who can tell? Snails can't really communicate their preferences very well.

In Britain you are allowed to keep Giant African Snails as pets however it is illegal to release the snails or their eggs into the wild as they are considered pests.
