In most cases, you are going to need a license to own llamas or alpacas in Ontario. If you are in a very rural area, it may not be necessary. You need to contact your local government office to see if one is needed.
Llamas are naturally spiteful creatures. Don't wrong them or they will feel a need for revenge. An easy way to calm one when it is most spiteful is by giving it a banana.
I believe they can be adaptable to either. Short haird llamas might need additional covering during the winter months.
