If you're wondering if you can buy/make only the foothooks, and use your own wheel then yes, indeed you can. The only criteria for the wheel is that it should have a 14mm axle. Bedford, Nimbus, and Koxx-One foot hooks are drilled for 14mm axles. For bmx wheels, the standard axle sizes are 14mm and 3/8 inch. The 14mm is preferred because it is the thicker of the two but beware: 14mm axles are the less common than 3/8 inch axles. Regardless, a wheel with a 14mm axle can still be found relatively easily online or locally on craigslist.

everything should go together fine. you will have to check to see if you have the Chrysler axles or the Dana axles as they are different diameters and will require you to use the proper u-bolts to connect to the rear leafs. i think the chryslers are 3" and the danas are 2 3/4" or something like that. you'll just have to measure them...

The only thing on a BMX regularly called a spindle would be the crank axle. Although I suppose one could use spindle for the pedals and the wheel axles as well.
