Plants,of course need sunlight, water, and soil to grow.People need food, sunlight(for vitamin D and also to prevent from depression),and water.Animals are really the same as humans only some only eat meat, other plants, and also, like bears some eat berries or something.
Hope this helped!
Organisms obtain energy in different ways. But all energy traces down from the sun. Most plants get energy by absorbing sunlight in their chloroplasts by the means of photosynthesis, however there are some carnivorous plants, such as the Venus Flytrap. Herbivores eat the plants and get energy from them. Then carnivores eat the herbivores. This is the food chain. So, all organisms are in the food chain, and most get energy from eating food, either plant or animal.
Producer (mostly plant) synthesized their energy from the sun, consumer (mostly animal) either obtain the energy by eating plant or other organism and decomposer (mostly microbe and fungi) obtain energy in the remains of dead organism or waste excrete from consumer organism.
Plants create their food through photosynthesis and animals consume food, but both break it down into ATP (stored energy) via cellular respiration
During respiration, food is burnt to release energy. it is stored as chemical energy.

Heterotrophs are organisms that consume food in order to obtain energy. These organisms get their energy by consuming organic molecules.
Chemotrophic bacteria are organisms that can obtain energy by the oxidation of electrons.
Decomposers
Because glucose is such an important molecule from which organisms obtain energy, plants and animals will string together units of glucose called polysaccharides. Plants store glucose as a polysaccharide called starch.
Prokaryotes that obtain energy and carbon as they decompose dead organisms are categorized as both heterotrophs and chemotrophs. This means they obtain their energy from more complex organic substances, and that they gain energy from electron donors.
They obtain their energy by consuming other organisms.

You cannot obtain energy through growth.
Yes, photosynthesis is what converts the light energy from the sun into the usable chemical energy that organisms use.
