The holiday is for citizens to remember the sacrifice made by military personnel in defense of their nation, by attending military ceremonies and parades, flying national flag on homes and businesses, visiting hospitalized veterans and in cemeteries.

On Veteran's Day, people recognize the brave young men and women that served in the army, marines, etc. and kept us a free and wonderful country. Some of us may also look at the different memorials and learn more about them. Many kids around the world are studying about Veteran's Day. Maybe you should too.

Veterans are the people that were able to withstand war either if they died or not. So Veterans Day was named in honor of them.
