I did a web search and all I could find was the Burmese Python is a native threat to people in Florida.
No, they still need to breath while engulfing their prey.
I believe you are referring to Ball Pythons. To my knowledge the world record is slightly over 6 ft. long. Most grow 4-5-1/2ft.
Is it very cold where you live? Ball phythons often have feeding issues like this- my own didn't eat for about 7 months one year. It was due to a halway-hibernation state he was going into. If you are very worried about your snake not eating, try warming the temperatures in its cage to summer temps. This may jump start the snake into moving about a bit more. Wait a week or so, make sure your snake is active, then try the food. Also, if you're feeding pre-killed (recommended if you can get your snake on it), then try cutting a bit on the head or somewhere else on the mouse/rat to release a little blood. The scent will hopefully encourage the snake a little more to eat.
