a white spot under their lip, in their ear and/or under their tail. some horses are spotted some are not. their disposition is offten very stubborn! look me up: ThoroughbredLover, and i own an appaloosa mare who is regestered but is a chestnut color with not obvious spots!

Other than the obvious... the fact that they're both horses...
Well, pintos aren't real breeds, nor are bays. They're both colors. So they could be the same breed of horses, meaning the same physical traits.

A Pinto has more of a patchy look to them like a Gypsy Vanner or a Paint Horse and a Appaloosa is covered in spots.
