At night animals breathe in Carbon Dioxide because plants reverse their gas exchanging pattern due to the disappearance of the sun. Plants will produce carbon dioxide from oxygen (O2) and glucose (C6H12O6) and the carbon dioxide inhaled will be changed in oxygen + carbon by fission.

C6H12O6 + O2 = CO2 + extra atoms

CO2/fission = O2 + extra C atom

it's exactly the same as in the day; you don't need sunlight for respiration

Do plants provide animals with oxygen?

Both plants and animals use oxygen in their body chemistry. Animals exhale carbon dioxide. Plants give off mostly oxygen during the daylight hours when photosynthesis occurs, but excrete carbon dioxide at night.

What do plants breathe through their stem?

plants breathe in carbon dioxide through their stems during the day only. during the night time this process stops as all living things need rest and so do plants. - soumya s nair

Does coral breath?

Not in the way you are probably thinking of breathing. They undergo photosynthesis, as they are plants, which means they absorb CO2. This is plants version of "breathing" .

Do green plants produce carbon dioxide at night?

Above plants can uptake CO{-2} during the night as well because of their ability to perform a type of photosynthesis called Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM).

What do humans breathe in at night?

The air doesn't change much from day to night, so we Breathe the same stuff at night as during the day.

Do plants need carbon dioxide to live?

No.Plants do not need carbon dioxide. But some plants use carbon dioxide during night and produce oxygen during day. Neem tree does not use carbon dioxide at all!!. They produce oxygen during the day as well as during the night.

Does a grapevine breathe?

A grapevine, like every plant, uses oxygen for dissimilation. During the day it produces this oxygen itself by photosynthesis, but during the night it absorbs oxygen from the air. So yes, grapevines essentially breathe, although not in the way animals do.

How does ventilation affect plant growth?

Plants normally breathe in oxygen at night and carbon dioxide during the day. Without proper ventilation, plants will not get the right amount of both gases and this may affect their growth.
