I raised a wild cottontail rabbit from a very Young age and found out that YES, RABBITS DO EAT BUGS!!! In fact, my rabbit LOVES TO EAT SCORPIONS and I have it on tape to prove it. She eats grasshoppers, moths, butterflies, scorpions, and a few others. However, she will not eat a cricket, June bug, or Yellow Jackets. One of my rabbit's favorite foods is giant grasshoppers. She eats the legs first, then the body, and saves the head for last.
Wherever there is enough plant growth, a rabbit can adapt anywhere. Since the grasslands have an infinite amount of grass, many rabbit are able to survive there.
