Its hard to say when Christianity was formed. As most believers in the world will tell you, Christianity was created by Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus died to save us all and forgive our sins. In essence Christianity is an amalgamation of other religions from the region. Jewish, Egyptian, Pagan, Mesopotamian and so on.
Answer: Jesus of Nazareth in A.D. 29* Many centuries later, this same question effectively answers the post-resurrection question, "Is Jesus a Christian?", because ... Chronologically, Jesus cannot be "Christian" since ... - Christianity did not exist until after Jesus' resurrection. - Jesus did not create Christianity (nor any religion). - Jesus did not teach Christianity. ... which is not to say that Christianity does not include who Jesus is or what he taught. So, what is Christianity? It's the continually evolving believers' answer to this question that Jesus' asked his apostles: "But who say you that I am?". * The Urantia Book, Paper 157

Morally, Christianity is most certainly not wrong. It embodies some of the most important moral and ethical teachings ever told. However, Jews say that Jesus was not really the Messiah. Muslims say that Jesus was a prophet, but not the Son of God. And Hindus (among others) say that in their belief, Christians worship the wrong God. Finally, atheists say that all religions involve false beliefs, even though the followers and their religious leaders hold those beliefs sincerely.

According to Christianity, Jesus saves. There are differences between the denominations about how this happens but this is the one thing all Christians agree on. Some denominations say that Jesus does all the work and we don't have any responsibility. Some denominations say that Jesus does all the work but we have to accept or receive it. Some denominations say that Jesus does part of the work but we also have to live right or do some form of penance as our portion. However, it cannot be called Christianity if what Jesus did at Calvary was unnecessary.
I would probably say Roman Catholic and Christianity. To be specific both are two huge religions.
