Religious texts are writings which are created by or inspired by a divine being or several of them. They are usually the foundation of religions, such as sacred writing like The Bible or q'ran, and inspire people into their faith.

These texts are often very old which makes interpreting them more difficult. Another problem is that texts can be 'inspired' by a divine being but written down by humans, which might make them flawed. And then there is the problem of translations and the distortion that comes with the interpretation of those who do the translating. All in all it can be difficult to interpret religious texts, that is probably why many religions rely on clergy of some sort to interpret them for the rest of the followers.
