they eat dead skin and parasites off of fish. I addition, if your shrimp is bold enough itll climb onto your hand and eat the dead skin off. Finally, to supplement their diet give them small meaty chunks to eat
Perfect timing, as i just found some in in my pond. They're little microscopic things that look kind of like insects but a little rounder, and they're clear.

No. The only species of shrimp that I know of that are called "Cleaner Shrimp" are all marine species and can not live in fresh water.

There are some wrasses and triggerfish that eat harlequin shrimp. If you have a wrasse or a trigger fish I would notget a harlequin shrimp.I have a cinamon clownfish that attacked my female harlequin shrimp and it died...I also have a Niger triggerfish and a wrasse(don't know what kind) that ate many of my cleaner shrimp and harlequin shrimpIf you have any questions email me at ctnicklas@comcast.net(My cinamon clown is for sale)
