Incas farm for a living
The Incas were primarily agriculturalists, cultivating crops like maize, potatoes, and quinoa. They also engaged in mining for precious metals such as gold and silver. Additionally, they were skilled weavers and traded goods within their empire.
The Incas were living in the Andes Mountains of South America, primarily in the region that is now Peru. Their empire stretched along the western coast of South America, encompassing parts of modern-day Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.
Advantages of the Incas living in the Andes include natural defenses provided by the rugged terrain, access to diverse ecological zones for agriculture, and strategic location for trade routes. Disadvantages include harsh environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures and limited arable land for farming.
The plural of Inca is Incas. "Incans" is not the correct plural form.
Machu Picchu is the stone city built by the Incas in the 15th century in the Andes Mountains of Peru. It is now a popular tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Yes, the Incas were known for using terrace farming to grow crops in the Andes Mountains. They built elaborate terraces on steep hillsides to create flat, level areas for planting crops like corn, potatoes, and quinoa. This method allowed them to maximize agricultural productivity in challenging mountainous terrain.
