In the Cambrian period, the world's oceans were beginning to form because the glaciers were melting. Most of the world's land was in the Southern Hemisphere.

what was the environment like in the Cambrian time
During the Quaternary period, there were various types of landforms, including mountains, valleys, plains, plateaus, and glaciers. Glacial landforms, such as moraines, drumlins, and eskers, were prominent due to the extensive ice sheets and glaciations. Additionally, the period saw the formation of river valleys, such as the Grand Canyon, as well as the shaping of coastal features like cliffs, beaches, and deltas due to changing sea levels.
a lot like maybe 500-5000
landforms formed on the second order landforms by action of exogenic forces like air, water are 3rd order landforms.
Life took off in the Cambrian period (the Cambrian Explosion). By its end, all the main lines of animal types, whose descendants fill the world today, had been established. All of this diversity flourished in the sea; there was still no life on land. Fish w/out jaws were the first vertebrates. Just like molluscs & arthropods, early fish had a hard outer covering. This armor plating around their front ends was made of bone. They had probably ate by sucking in mud through their mouths.
Oxygen Levels were approximately 10% of what they are today. As photosynthesis only began in the Precambrian period the amount of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the atmosphere would be very small compared to modern times. In fact, human's probably wouldn't have been able to breath.
