im guessing that the word pog refers to the game that people used to play. at least, pogs was a game that i played when I was younger
If it's actually from the 50's that's extremely unlikely; POGs were a 90s fad. The game took its name from a beverage called POG (for Pineapple-Orange-Guava), but that's probably a stretch as well. It might help to know what else was on the pin.
