Tigers in India do the same as any other animal, eat, drink, sleep, and reproduce.
On the lighter side: Tigers in India stay very busy. Except after a big meal when they relish their sleep, the females like to group together for social activities, after their chores and hunting for the day are finished, of course.
They have many different hobbies. One favorite hobby of almost all of the Asian female tigers is cooking venison curry. Each "Streak" ("pride" in Tigerese) has its own secret garam masala (spice blend) that they use, but, they all prefer it very hot and spicy, so be forewarned if you are offered a portion. Another common hobby among the female tigers of India is bejeweling their beautiful saris and decorative throw pillows.
Note: Tigers in India are traditionalists when it comes to their saris and wear them in the original drapes, usually in the Nivi style of drape, with the loose end put over the left shoulder going from front to back. Many of the male tigers spend their time in less structured activities, such as lying in the shade, watching the females, or roaring to keep their vocal chords loose and in good tone. They are more solitary than the females and mostly enjoy independentactivities such as marking bushes, watching sports on TV, and their famous creative scratching on trees that leaves unique etchings displayed for all who pass through their territories to see. They (including the cubs) enjoy a dip in the water to cool off during the heat of the Indian day. A new high dive sport that is gaining in popularity is known among the tigers as "splashing". This sport is also becoming popular with streaks in other Asian countries. The First All Asian Tiger Splashing World Title Competition will be held early in 2009 at Mumbai, Maharashtra (formerly known as Bombay). You can already see teams training in all five confluences of the headstreams at the source of the Ganges River and on downstream from there. The largest training facility is near where the Alaknanda river meets the Dhauliganga river at Vishnuprayag.
All in all, Indian tigers seem to enjoy their hobbies very much. They have quite the artistic flair in their creative endeavors, unlike the local bovine who tend toward activities requiring less dexterity, and less effort. (They enjoy a very leisurely existence in India).
The results of the 2009 First All Asian Tiger Splashing World Title Competition will be posted when available.
