On a 1996 Ford Explorer :
4WD LOW is four wheel drive , low range ( on the Control Trac 4x4 system )
It is used off road where all four wheels would have " give " because as far as
I know the maximum speed would be around 25 miles per hour
( the last time I used 4WD LOW on my 1995 Ford Explorer was to drive out of
a snow filled ditch beside the highway one winter , if I was driving a car I
would have had to wait for a tow truck to winch me out )
If the bulb is not blown . it is probaly the multi function switch on the column
Low gear.
I think it's 25 miles per hour ( I'll have to check )
In a 1997 Ford Explorer : Control Trac is Fords name for the 4x4 system , with the 2 speed transfer case ( it has a LOW RANGE that can be used off-road )
On the 4.0 liter - OHV - V6 , it's low down on the drivers side of the engine , where the transmission is bolted to the engine
On the 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine the starter is on the drivers side of the engine , low down , where the transmission is bolted to the rear of the engine
Winshield washing fluid low
On a 2004 Ford Explorer : The ( LOW tire pressure warning light ) is below and to the left of the tachometer
I believe on the 1993 / 1994 Ford Explorer it is mounted low on the firewall near the drivers side fender
According to the 2002 Ford Explorer Owner Guide : The LOW BEAM headlights take bulb ( # 9006 ) Also , the HIGH BEAMS use # 9005
The low side ac port for a 2002 ford explorer is on the top of the drier assembly. It is located beside of the window washer fill bottle.
