Many people practice witchcraft, even some that do not know they are practicing.

Wiccans are the most popular of the groups of the day, claiming to practice "white magic".

Druids practice witchcraft, they reached a popularity in the 80's.

Some Satan worshippers, believing that they draw their power from the prince of darkness, Satan.

Witches that do not follow any organized set of beliefs practice it.

When people chant or meditate they are practicing witchcraft. They are attempting to draw upon a higher power that is not of the creator of the universe, hence they are practicing a "craft".

For the Christian witchcraft, the occult, fortune telling, etc, is forbidden.

Most people do not consider witchcraft a reality, but it is. To deny it is like putting your head under the covers when its dark out. It's still going to be dark outside, denying the existence does not change it.

AlsoNot all Pagans are witches, nor do all witches call or consider themselves Pagan. In AdditionThe practice of witchcraft is not limited to the use of Magic...

It can, but is neither all inclusive of, nor limited to; the use of herbs for healing, as well as magic; the art of controlling ones own mind, through study, meditation, and practice; the control of ones body, through yoga, bio-feedback, and moving meditations; the performance of Rituals and Rite; the Sabbat and Esbat observances; as well as, a deep and abiding love and respect for nature. Witchcraft is practiced by people all over the world, from all walks of life, all colours, ages, and genders are represented in our numbers.

We do not all believe exactly the same way, nor practice in the exact same manner, but we are all respectful of one another's paths and the paths of all others we encounter.

Witchcraft & magic are as old as mankind. Anything, beyond your understanding or comprehension can be considered magic. A cell phone to a primitive is magic.

When mankind first started being self aware, we looked beyond ourselves and needed answers to things like, where does the sun go at night? How do we insure it will come back? How do we heal wounds and illnesses? How do we find food?

Eventually members of the group who discovered things, like which plants helped an upset stomach, where to find water, what the migration patterns of the local animals were and other things, became the ones others turned to for answers. These were the Wise Ones...

As we became more evolved the amount of knowledge expanded, and those with the answers learned a few tricks of their own.

If someone tells you a certain herb will cure your cut, you may or may not believe them, if they are well respected and do a little spell/prayer over the cut at the same time as using the herb, you tend to believe... Particularly if it works... you then tell others of the "power" of the Wise One... Eventually a name gets made, and expectation are raised...

It is a commonly accepted fact that your mind has a strong influence on your body... If you believe in something it has a better chance of working. the Wise Ones figured this out early on, so a little "showmanship" helped their reputation...

As spell/prayers/magic/ became standardized and passed on from generation to generation, the words became of equal importance to the practical application...

Magic became accepted as something that worked...

Science is today what magic once was, a practical, evolving set of standard results from repeated experimentation...

Even modern medicine can't tell us everything the mind is capable of, so some of us still believe in and practice Magic...

Witchcraft is practiced differently by each person.

Many consider all usages of magic to be witchcraft, others disagree with this interpretation.

Witchcraft can be loosely defined as one of the spiritual paths under the umbrella term "Paganism" However, not all pagans call or consider themselves to be witches.

Personally, I would say the practice of magic is simply the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner. Most often in the forms of meditation, visualisation, manifestation, spell, potions, herb-craft and ritual.
