This is called acceptance. Next they will then ask Him to enter into their hearts, and will desire a relationship with Him. He has given that person a clean slate. All the things they had done in the past has been forgotten and now that person is free to do the right things with Jesus help.
Some ways a person could be manipulated psychologically include gaslighting (making someone doubt their own reality), manipulation of information or withholding information, emotional manipulation such as guilt-tripping or love bombing, and using fear tactics to control behavior.
Because people are insensitive and cruel as a whole. We wouldn't mock a person who was missing an arm, or a leg, but people who are obese are teased an ridiculed for most of their lives. The sad reality is that there are only two ways to stop the ridicule - accept who you are, or change who you are. It's your choice to accept the body you have, or you can make a change. Either way, hang in there. Things do get easier
