Greenhouse gases.
The Earth's atmosphere.
The Greenhouse Effect.
The greenhouse effect is simply the atmosphere's ability to retain heat. This is caused by gases, which we call greenhouse gases. These gases trap heat, rather like greenhouses trap heat to help grow plants in cold climates.
Air is the mixture of gases that forms the atmosphere, which we have all around us. When this air begin to move fast enough to matter, we call it wind.
It is called lightning.

atmosphere
An atmosphere is a sort of shell of gases surrounding a planet or a moon. In Earth's case, we call these gases air. So you could say that the atmosphere is made of air.
the gases in earth's atmosphere are Nitrogen, Oxygen, and frankly, I do not know the other ones. Feel free to email me the other gases if you figure them out. My email is gmeb98@aol.com. If you want to call me instead, my phone number is 781-274-6802
The Greenhouse Effect.
Mercury, the smallest planet that is also closest to the sun. It is due to these reasons that it has no atmosphere, so the surface is a near vacuum. There are trace gases about, but not in large enough amounts to call a real atmosphere.

Mercury has a surface pressure that is near enough zero (or a vacuum), the planet holds no real atmosphere due to its small size. There are some trace gases at the surface, but not what one would call a proper atmosphere.
Meteoritesis what we call stones that enter the earths atmosphere.

The absence of atmosphere is called a vacuum.
