That is referred to as a "whorl" and is the part of the hair, typically at the top back of most people's head where the hair grows in a sort of circular pattern. Not everyone has one and some people's turn clockwise while others' turn counterclockwise. A researcher, Dr. Richard Lippa, Professor of Psychology at California State University, Fullerton, did a study which was released in early 2007, indicating that a small percentage of gay men were more likely to have a counter-clockwise whorl (23%) than that found in the normal population (10%). Since this difference was clearly not due to outside influences but rather as a genetic trait, it is thought this more common occurrence in gay men than straight indicates a biological aspect to being gay.
One must not, obviously, expect all men with counterclockwise whorls to be gay or assume that all gay men have a counterclockwise whorl. The study simply indicates that this characteristic, also present in straight men, was showing up a little more amongst gay men.

My brother shaved his head and his hair is naturally curly, it finally grew back in and it's really curly. If your hair is naturally curly it will grow back that way.

well normal people have one way. and no im not saying your not normal but that's the only thing i could think of to say lol It's very common for people to have a variety of textures and wave/curl patterns on their head. It's perfectly normal! It might make it more challenging to achieve the perfect curls, but it's still possible! mine is the same. mum and dad have curly hair but mine is curly where it's short and dead straight where its long. so this makes my fringe really really curly, any layers i have mildly curly and long bits really straight. what i find works is having all my hair the same length ( either short or long, no matter) and then its all either straight or curly. or you can straighten the curly bits or curl the straight bits. its up to you. :) good luck

Having just now looked at some humans, I am unable to detect any curly thing in the back of their head. Perhaps if you clarified what you mean? == == If I get what you're referring to, it's called a "whorl" and is that point where your hair pattern goes in sort of a whirlpool-like pattern. You'd see it more clearly in people who's hair is quite short. Not everyone has a very obvious one, and some have whorl that goes clockwise while others go counterclockwise.

Some times after chemotherapy. My hair came in curly, but it only lasted till my hair was cut the second time. My hair had always been straight before that. Some people will always have curly hair and some will go back to straight
