What is an open call for modeling?
An open call is a time when anyone off the street can walk into the modeling agency's office to be evaluated and considered for representation. Open calls usually take place at the agency during certain days of the week and during a short time frame. You don't need an appointment. Not all agencies hold their open calls at the same time so you'll need to visit the agency's official website in order to get that information. An example of an open call schedule would be: Mondays and Wednesday from 1pm-2pm. It is first come first served so if you are late you will not be seen. The agency will look at your snapshots or portfolio and ask you to fill out some basic information such as your height and other stats/measurements. Depending on the type of modeling you want to do, the agency may ask you to walk for them. They may also take a polaroid photo of you for their files. If they are interested in you, they will contact you within a few days or weeks of meeting you at the open call.
