Trying to find the same thing for an 8th grade science project. Here's what i Found so far: 1. Perseus lies in the northern hemisphere, along with his entire family of constellations that was named after Perseus. These include the constellations Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Cepheus, Cetus, Pegasus, Auriga, Lacerta and Triangulum. 2. Perseus lies in the main path of the Milky Way, located to the north of the Taurus constellation and west of the Cassiopeia constellation. 3. The brightest star in Perseus is Algneib. It is a Red Supergiant with an apparent brightness of1.79m, lying 590 light years away from our solar system. It has a luminosity of 5000 times our sun. 4. The most famous star in Perseus is Agol. In Arabic, it means "The Ghoul", or "The Demon Star". This star is widely known as the eye of Medusa.
The Little Dipper is one constellation, it is not made up of smaller constellations.
Lacerta is one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union. Its name is Latin for lizard. A small, faint constellation, it was created in 1687 by the astronomer Johannes Hevelius. Its brightest stars form a "W" shape similar to that ofCassiopeia, and it is thus sometimes referred to as 'Little Cassiopeia'. It is located betweenCygnus, Cassiopeia and Andromeda on the northern celestial sphere. The northern part lies on the Milky Way.
