Its called an orbit.
It's orbit

Earth is a natural satellite of Sol, the star that we call the Sun.
Earth. Or in another word, a planet.
A satellite.
We call it the moon.
The third path of an object orbiting another is known as a heliocentric orbit around the Sun or a geocentric orbit around the Earth. It follows an elliptical trajectory, with the object moving in a curved path due to the gravitational pull of the larger body it orbits.
The farthest point a satellite in orbit around the Earth can be from the Earth is called apogee. This is the point in the orbit where the satellite is the farthest from Earth.
A projectile that continually falls around Earth is called a satellite. These objects are thrown into orbit around the planet and their speed is balanced by the force of gravity, allowing them to constantly fall towards Earth while also moving sideways fast enough to stay in orbit.
A "Made Up Moon" would be a man made satellite. The real moon is a natural satellite of the earth. Man made satellites are created on earth to perform functions in orbit around the earth such as receiving signals from and sending signals to the earth. They allow us on earth to have GPS, satellite phones, space photos and the like.
Because the moon naturally revolves around the Earth and things that revolve around each other are called satellites (ex. the planets revolving around the sun) so therefore the name "Natural Satellite".
